Peter Cardamone, Treasurer of the Board of Trustees
Peter F. Cardamone is a lifelong resident of upstate NY. After earning professional degrees from Cornell University and the University of Rochester, Peter engaged in a 37-year professional career in education as a Mathematics and science teacher, and school administrator. He retired as Tully High School Principal in 2009, and has since served in Youth Services for an Urban Non-Profit Agency and Director of Religious Education at St. Leo’s Parish in Tully. Peter was appointed Library Trustee in 2013 and has served as Board President since July 2017. Pete’s support for the library programs and community outreach activities are based upon his lifetime experiences and dedication to the importance of academics and community service in support of education. He promotes the TFL’s community outreach programming and advocates for staffing expertise to serve as a resource for the needs of the diverse members of the greater Tully community. Throughout his professional career Pete has been involved as a Community Service volunteer in a variety of organizations. As a member of Rotary International District 7150 he served as District Governor in 2016-17, and continues as a member of the Tully Rotary Club promoting Rotary Youth Exchange and Interact. He has been active in Tully Community Youth activities, the Community Youth Center, and Tully 1 st and 10 Club, the Agriculture Advisory Committee, and supports scholarships and Youth Leadership Programs. Pete and his wife Denise have lived in the Tully School District since 2006, where Denise currently serves as president of the Board of Education. Their daughter, Carie, is Associate Director of Science and Mathematics Teaching at the Center for Learning at Tuffs University outside of Boston Massachusetts.
